Easy to follow directions for administering placement pre-tests with routing suggestions depending on results

Grade-Page Scope and Sequence - You deserve to know which pages correspond with which grade levels. This is helpful in two ways. It tells you how far to go in each book for that school year (for achievement test accountability). It also tells you where your child is functioning (example: the student is on page 33 in Subduing Subtraction, so he is working on 4th grade level in subtraction).

Shortcuts for some skills (multiplying by 10s, 100s, 1000s; ratios, changing division problems into fractions; Ray arithmetic fraction shortcut; etc.). Not every student finds a shortcut helpful; it may not make sense to them. Therefore, additional ways for solving problems are in the Parent's Manual rather than their book.

Absolutely not! That wouldn't make Mastering Mathematics very "parent friendly." If you read the first 20 or so pages in the General Information section, you'll see how Mastering Mathematics:
teaches successfully by focusing on one skill at a time and reviewing it in the next skill level
finds each child's beginning skill/fact level and builds upon his/her strengths while correcting each weakness
works with all learning styles at the child's individual pace
individualizes for each student with no exhausting effort on Mom's part
Then as you go through the program, check out Helpful Hints and our simple sequential Additional Teaching Suggestions. Answer keys are available or allow the child to check his completed work with a calculator.
